These are our operational assemblies.

This will eventually be an index of all (active) assemblies in the Party, with relevant links. For now it is mostly informational. If you want to know how assemblies work & an explanation of those terms, click here.

The Mutual Aid Society

Both an operational assembly and an "umbrella assembly", the Mutual Aid Society is home to the party's aid assemblies, and provides operational and financial support to party assemblies seeking to do mutual aid via its Mutual Aid Fund. Fifty percent of party membership subs go to the Mutual Aid Fund. It also administers the Emergency Payment Fund, which is a solidarity fund providing gifts up to £20 to UK residents in need due to the cost of living crisis. You can apply for an EPF gift here. The Secretarial Committee

The Secretarial Committee is a special closed assembly composed of some of the "secretaries" - core organisers and facilitators - of the operational assemblies plus the general secretaries and the party treasurer. The Secretarial Committee has responsibility for ensuring the enacting of the Consensus of the Party, and can create special ad-hoc "teams" (including potentially of employees) to work with assemblies for this purpose. Currently the Party is entirely volunteer-based and has no employees.

The Foundational Committee

The Foundational Committee verifies the constitutionality of new assemblies and supports their creation. All Party participants are automatically considered members of this assembly.

The Safeguarding Working Group

The Safeguarding Working Group oversees safeguarding at a Party-wide level, and provides support to assemblies on safeguarding.

The Operational Working Group

The Operational Working Group, by consensus, maintains the constitution by editing it in line with changes of practice within the federation of assemblies. All Party participants are automatically considered members of this assembly.

The Financial Working Group

Supports the Treasurer with labour (at request) and informs the Party (and public) about financial matters. All Party participants are automatically considered members of this assembly.

The Media Working Group

The Media Working Group creates media for the Party - for example graphics and videos - but not paper materials such as booklets.

The Library Society

The Library Society was originally the Constitutional Working Group and is the oldest assembly in the Party. It is now solely responsible for the production of Party materials such as books and booklets, such as the Constitution and the Policy Book.

The Research Working Group

Provides research and statistical support to other assemblies.

The Constituency Society

This Assembly provides centralised logistical support to the geographical assemblies which are members of it (ie all the constituency, regional, and city assemblies). All Party participants are automatically considered members of this assembly. This assembly does not undertake decisions independently.

The Society for Elections

Provides electoral labour for Party assemblies for internal elections (such as for assembly secretaries or deputies), and provides coordinating labour nationally to the Party with regards to local and national elections as well.

The Society for Activism

An ops/umbrella assembly, Society for Activism contains all of the activist and advocacy assemblies and provides centralised supportive labour to them. It can join into a single assembly for major decisions which involve multiple of its member assemblies.

The Society for Policy

Another ops/umbrella assembly, the Society for Policy contains a variety of "Policy Societies". The Policy Societies hold the remit for production of policy on their specific area until or unless an advocacy assembly is formed that covers their remit. Some Policy Societies have limited membership, as with advocacy societies, in line with the Party's interpretation of democracy as nothing about you without you.
