In this document unless clearly stated otherwise:
- "Articles" means this Party's articles of association
- "Party Secretary" means both "director" and "member" of the Society, with the meanings as given in section 112 of the Companies Act 2006; also a member of the Secretarial Committee
- "Document" includes, unless otherwise specified, any document sent or supplied in electronic form.
- "Hard copy form" has the meaning given in section 1168 of the Companies Act 2006.
- "Ordinary resolution" has the meaning given in section 282 of the Companies Act 2006
- "Participate" in relation to a meeting of the Secretarial Committee, has the meaning given in article 10.
- "Special resolution" has the meaning given in section 283 of the Companies Act 2006.
- "the Membership" at all times refers to the body of those persons who pay a subscription fee to the Party in return for the right to democratic participation in that Party and does not carry the meaning given in section 112 of the Companies Act 2006.
- "Member" at all times refers to a person who pays a subscription fee to the Party in return for the right to democratic participation in that Party, and does not carry the meaning given in section 112 of the Companies Act 2006.
- Any reference in this constitution to any act or matter relating to the Secretarial Committee shall, at any time there is only a single Party Secretary, be construed in terms that the single Party Secretary has the powers stated for multiple Party Secretaries. Accordingly any provision requiring a particular number of Party Secretaries shall be considered to be satisfied by a single Party Secretary.
